Installing freshwater tanks
Installation of 10,000-liter water tanks at the level of the national park to provide safe drinking water in the reservoirs
2 kilometers of pipeline to transfer healthy water to the Savanna region to supply water to the big four animals of Africa (lions, leopards, buffaloes and rhinos).
Creating a drinking water basin in the savanna grassland for small animals such Antelopes, Zebras Gazelles,Baboons, Impala's, Waterbuck's, be warthog's and many smaller species.
This work has automatically caused to turn that area into a popular spot for lion, hyena and leopard hunting. In this way, the natural process of providing food for carnivores is also in the right cycle.
Water supply for about 600 endangered animals.
On average, about 25% of the land animal population in Lake Nakuru National Park today uses water reservoirs created by NewVerse and Baboon Kenyan.
Drought mitigation projects in Lake Nakuru
Lake Nakuru National Park is a renowned park in Kenya known for its unique biodiversity, including an abundance of waterfowls like flamingos and various large mammals. However, it has faced challenges such as drought due to its enclosed system. To address this issue, a drought mitigation project was initiated in August 2022, involving the rehabilitation of three boreholes, excavation of Earth Pans to collect rainwater, and tapping water from natural springs. Eco-friendly solar-powered pumps were installed, providing a daily supply of approximately 50,000 liters of water to wildlife. Since the project's implementation, LNNP has reported zero drought-related mortalities, ensuring the park's conservation efforts continue successfully.
Organizing a tree planting event to commemorate World Wildlife Day in 2023
The annual World Wildlife Day which occurs every 3rd of March was coordinated and conducted by Baboon Kenya, NewVerse and Kenia Wildlife together with other like minded wildlife conservation organizations.
2023 World Wildlife Day theme was -Partnerships for Conservation. During the celebrations Launched the Green Schools Project where close to 10,000 Indigenous Trees have been planted to more than 20 schools neighboring Lake Nakuru National Park.
